RRB PO Notification & Overview

The IBPS RRB PO (Officer Scale-I) notification is released annually by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit officers in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across India. The position is a managerial post that involves handling banking operations, loan approvals, and financial management in rural regions.

RRB PO Exam Dates & Important Schedule

  • Notification Release: Typically in June/July
  • Preliminary Examination: Conducted in August
  • Main Examination: Held in September/October
  • Interview Process: Conducted post-mains, usually between November and December

Final Result & Provisional Allotment: January/February

Preliminary Exam Pattern

  • Reasoning Ability: 40 questions (40 marks)
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 40 questions (40 marks)
  • Total: 80 questions (80 marks)
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer

RRB PO Main Exam Pattern

  • Reasoning Ability: 40 questions (50 marks)
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 40 questions (50 marks)
  • General Awareness: 40 questions (40 marks)
  • English/Hindi Language: 40 questions (40 marks)
  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions (20 marks)
  • Total: 200 questions (200 marks)
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer

Interview Round

  • Candidates qualifying for the mains exam will be shortlisted for an interview round conducted by NABARD and IBPS.
  • The interview is 100 marks with a minimum passing requirement.
  • Final Selection: Based on main exam marks (80%) and interview marks (20%).

 

RRB PO Eligibility Criteria :

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
    • PwD: 10 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: As per government norms

Educational Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with degrees in Banking, Finance, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Marketing, and Co-operation.
  • Proficiency in the local language of the applying state is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Computer Operations is desirable.

RRB PO Cut-Off Marks :

  • Cut-offs are released after each exam stage.

  • Gross Salary: INR 29,000 – 33,000 per month (including allowances)
