SBI PO Syllabus 2026

SBI PO Prelims Syllabus:

  • English: Reading comprehension, cloze test, para jumbles, error spotting.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, arithmetic, data interpretation.
  • Reasoning: Puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, coding-decoding.

SBI PO Mains Syllabus:

  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: Logical reasoning, high-level puzzles, data sufficiency.
  • Data Analysis: Bar graphs, pie charts, caselets, probability.
  • General Awareness: Banking awareness, static GK, current affairs.

SBI PO Selection Process

The SBI PO selection process consists of three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: Objective test to shortlist candidates for the Main exam. t
  2. Main Examination: Consists of objective and descriptive tests.
  3. Group Exercise & Interview: Final round for merit listing.

Weightage:

  • Main Exam: 75%
  • Group Exercise & Interview: 25%

SBI PO Exam Pattern

Preliminary Exam

The SBI PO selection process is generally considered difficult compared to any other banking exams. The SBI PO prelim is the first stage of the exam. This is an online exam for 1 hour, where candidates will get a chance to attempt 100 questions. ¼ negative marks for each wrong answers

  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

Descriptive Test:

Group Exercise & Interview

    • Group Discussion: 20 marks
    • Interview: 30 marks

Eligibility

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Final-year students can apply if they can produce proof of graduation by a specified date.

Age Limit (as of the notification date):

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 30 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
    • PwD: 10-15 years depending on category

Nationality:

  • Indian citizen.
  • Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan or Tibetan refugees settled in India before January 1, 1962, are eligible.

Salary

  • Basic Pay: ₹41,960 (on the scale of ₹36,000 – ₹1,49,000).
  • Emoluments: Approximately ₹8.20 lakh to ₹13.08 lakh per annum.

The SBI PO cut off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to secure to qualify for SBI PO Main 2025.
